Village Walk “Summer Sunday”

For several years, Village Walk at Eastlake has invited the Corvette Owners Club of San Diego to be the featured car club at one of its “Summer Sundays” events.  In exchange for bringing 18-20 COCSD Corvettes out for a 5 pm to 7 pm display, Village Walk pays the Club $200.

In addition to our Corvettes, the “Summer Sunday” on June 12 included the music from the Navy Band Southwest and vendor samples.  Attending the event were COCSD members Rick Balliet, Steve Bronstein, Sam Campbell, Lee and Pat Caudel, Joe Charles, Paul Fitch, Bruce and Cathy Jamieson, Howard Kendall, Keith Kingsley and Gloria Jones, Dave and Cindy Keetch, Greg Magill, Craig Moya, Gilbert Peet, Brett Savage, and Walt Zumstein.  Also participating were (hopefully) future members Allie Foote, Johnny Pico and Chris Calcagni.

The Corvettes did not get parked exactly as I would have liked, but at least the four C7s were together.

Greg’s ’72 and Walt’s ’62 were the only two chrome bumpered Corvettes on display.

The band was pretty good. It is difficult to look cool in Navy whites, but they pulled it off.
