The COCSD Racing Team is going to head up to Long Beach from April 13 through 15 to watch the pros race.
The Grand Prix of Long Beach is actually several races, including the IMSA GTLM Sports Car race on Saturday, with Team Corvette, along with the BMWs, Porsches and Ferraris in that class. The Indy Car race is the “grand finale” on Sunday. There are other races as well, including the Historic Trans Am Challenge, with Camaros, Mustangs, Javelins and others from that era.
There is a Corvette Corral on Friday and Saturday, which will include Corvette parking, a big hospitality tent, lunches both days and guest speakers. Space is limited, and Saturday may be sold out. You must purchase event tickets to buy a Corvette Corral pass. For more info and to purchase tickets, go to GP Long Beach tickets and information
There will be autograph sessions for both the Indy Car drivers and the GTLM teams. You may want to bring something for them to sign. Or pick up one of the autographed posters most teams bring.
The Convention Center will be filled with race-related vendors and displays. In past years, it has also served as the paddock for the Pirelli World Challenge teams.
Ticket prices for the 3 days, with reserved seating for Saturday and Sunday are around $150. There are extras that can be purchased. The Corvette Corral its $30 per day. Parking outside the Corral is $15 to $20 per day, depending upon location.
We got a group deal at the Residence Inn Long Beach, about 5 miles from the race site. Hotel rooms within 10 miles of the site go very quickly, so contact Craig (email@example.com) ASAP if you are interested.
