CHRISTMAS LIGHTS CRUISE
On December 13th, we had eleven cars show up at the Chevron Station in Scripps Ranch to decorate their cars for a look at four neighborhoods lights displays. Our first scheduled stop was Merry-Tage Court in Scripps Ranch. Other than making a wrong turn on a dead-end street, all went well on the first leg of the journey. It was a beautifully decorated area and well worth the drive thru.
Our second stop was Poway’s Candy Cane Lane. There we drove into a long line of vehicles waiting to gain entrance to this dead-end street with three cul-de- sacs. Because traffic was coming from two directions and alternating cars were entering the street, that put an end to our continuous string of decorated cars. This street was also amazingly decorated with double the number of homes. It took quite a while to get thru the display area and by the time it came to regroup and head to our next destination, someone in the caravan made a wrong turn and we got split up.
We decided to forgo the stop in Mt Carmel Ranch and proceed to the parking lot at the school on Oviedo St. In getting to the parking lot, we by passed an even longer line of vehicles getting into our final stop. At the school we determined our neighborhood Christmas Light Cruse was over for this year. Next year we will pick a better day of the week!
