Throttle Position Sensor Fix

I’m Randy Brown.  I’m the current President of COCSD.  I own a 2009 Corvette Base Model.  I recently had a problem with my car and I thought I’d post this for other members who might have a similar problem.  My car was getting an engine check light and then putting me in “limp mode” at various times.  I put a code reader on it and it said that I had a Throttle Position Sensor issue.  I talked to Randy Standke, our Vice President and resident tech expert.  After some research, we decided to disconnect the gas pedal and spray some contact cleaner on the connection.  Simple fix.  It worked.  the car is driving without any issues.  I love simple fixes.  If you have one, let me know and we’ll put it on the web.

    • It was running perfectly. Even though it was running great, I was getting the check engine light which, on the c6, becomes a real problem if you don’t get it turned off; it will go in to limp mode and not allow you to drive the car with it’s normal power and performance.
