The 3rd  annual Barbie and Ken run was a great success and loads of fun had by all. We invited our friends from Vettes Out West (“VOW”) to join us as the destination for the run was in their backyard, Falkner Winery.

The starting point for the run was Dudley’s Bakery in Santa Ysabel. VOW impressed again, showing up with ten of their finest rides and COCSD was represented with six cars.  There was some heavy construction on the 79 headed back to Temecula, I invited Roger to lead as he knew an alternate route that bypassed most of the construction.

This year we added a little fun to the run with a Costume Contest. More than half of all participants dressed for the occasion. The purpose of the Barbie and Ken run is to remind everyone that Barbie owned the Corvette and Ken drove a Jeep. So, for this run the women are encouraged to drive, and that they did almost half of the cars were driven by Barbies.  We had a fantastic drive to Falkner Winery where we all gathered on the beautiful deck serenaded by a DJ rockin’ the vinyard and enjoyed the scenery and a few glasses of Falkner’s finest. Prizes were awarded for the best Barbies, Ken’s, and best couple. In good fashion we took to the dance floor and both clubs rocked the house!
