COVID has had an impact on not just graduating seniors, but on military retirees as well. We’re planning to do a “drive-by” on Saturday, June 13 in response to this request we received from Amanda Smith on our Facebook page:
My husband is retiring after 21 years active duty and due to COVID his command is doing NO ceremony of any kind. He’s been REALLY disappointed about leaving service like this. I’m working hard to plan a virtual ceremony and celebration. If anyone might be interested in participating in the drive by portion, it would really mean the world to me and would really help change the way he will forever feel about the end of this chapter.
Meet in front of Bob Stall Chevrolet (not in the parking lot, please) at 2:30. We will be heading east at 2:45, so you won’t have to turn around if you park along the curb. The destination is 5400 Aztec Dr. in La Mesa. We will drive by the home, honking horns and revving engines, as a salute to Amanda’s husband.
