COCSD Members,
The organizers of the annual Rancho Bernardo 4th of July Parade are inviting people to drive their VIP’s.  COCSD members that have done this in the past report that it is an excellent event and drivers are invited to a very nice lunch prior to the parade.  Only convertibles will be used for VIPs to sit outside otherwise they will sit inside the car. We have been promised that all Corvettes with VIPs will be lined up together.  Please note: the driver and passenger are invited to the reception and luncheon.

Hello from the 2022 Spirit of the Fourth Parade Committee! We would like to extend you an invitation to participate in our 2022 Independence Day parade on Monday July 4th, 2022.  
You would be driving an assigned VIP(s). You will park your car in a special spot and be admitted to our VIP reception before the parade. 
A car entry form for the parade is attached.  Please return your form by ASAP. 
 
In the meantime, should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me and I will respond within 24 hours.
 
 This is how the day would go:
  1. You would need to arrive by 1:30 pm at the check-in/parking area for the cars which is at the Windermere Homes & Estates Office parking lot/CVS, located in a shopping center off Bernardo Center Drive.
  2. You will be provided a lunch and mingle with other drivers and VIPs (including City Officials).
  3. Parade starts at 3:30 pm sharp and ends around 4:30 pm. After the parade is completely over, the San Diego Police Department will start opening the streets for all you drivers and parade entries to exit the parking lot and go home.
  4. Therefore, expect to be available from 1:30 to 4:30 pm approx.
  5. The day or two before the parade, you will receive via email with instructions and your assigned VIP(s) and placement number in the parade.
