The COCSD Racing Team is planning a return visit to Spring Mountain Motor Resort on November 20-23. Here is a video from a recent visit: Craig and Jeff at Spring Mountain

Even though this event is put on by a Porsche club, it is open to all makes of cars. Many Corvette owners attend these events., and they’re happy to have us there. More information about their program can be found at http://lvs.pca.org/drivered.htm
Because of COVID restrictions, there will be NO beginner’s group. Only drivers with track experience will be able to participate. The run groups will be novice, intermediate and advanced. Each group will get four 30-minute sessions per day.
The event is run in compliance with the Nevada COVID requirements, so you will need a mask. We can all sit together and socially distance without masks. The drivers meeting will be held outdoors and box lunches will be provided (at no extra cost) both days.
The Porsche Club runs the safest and best organized track events in which we have participated. The Spring Mountain facility is first-class, with one of the best tracks we’ve driven. We will be running the 4.0-mile Andretti course, with the back straight bus stop. It’s the configuration used for the September weekend, and it is a LOT OF FUN!
We anticipate the cost for the two track days to be $450. However, the LVR PCA offers us a discount, if we reach a minimum threshold of registrants. If we get at least 5 registrants, there will be a $50 refund credited to each registrant’s card shorty after the event. If we get at least 10 registrants, the refund is $75. Because Pahrump is 330 miles from San Diego (about a 5-hour drive with light traffic), we typically drive up on Friday morning. And to avoid Sunday evening traffic from Las Vegas, many stay in town (or drive over the mountain to Las Vegas) Sunday night and drive home on Monday.
We recommend participants reserve a cottage at Wine Ridge RV Resort & Cottages https://wineridgervresort.com/ for Friday through Sunday night (Monday checkout). The cost and other details will be determined, but it is usually around $100 per night for a 1-bedroom cottage. If you prefer a hotel, two options are the Best Western, and the Pahrump Nugget Hotel.
