Join the COCSD Racing Team for a track day weekend at Auto Club Speedway. ACS is both the closest and the fastest track on which we will run in 2022. Unfortunately, since it is scheduled to be rebuilt as a 5/8-mile oval, this year is likely the last opportunity we will have to drive the track. ACS is located near I-15 in Fontana. We will be running the “roval” configuration, which includes much of the high-banked oval the pros run, and the infield road course.
We’ll run on Saturday and Sunday, October 1st and 2nd, with Speed Ventures. Check out their website at Speed Ventures. There are currently just 3 run groups – advanced, intermediate and novice. They grid up each run group based upon the previous session lap times. Consequently, you spend less time behind slower traffic, waiting for a point-by.
The cost is $239 for each day. We recommend paying $40 for the garage option. Here is the registration link
You may want to consider getting track insurance for this event. Unlike most other tracks we visit, there are a lot of very hard walls around much of the course. There are several options, including Hagerty and the Corvette Museum.
We will drive up on Friday and head home on Sunday evening. There are several hotels and a big selection of restaurants in the area. The Ontario K1 Speed is not far from the track, so we may head over before dinner on Friday to get “warmed up” for our track days.
